Jaidyn's Rose Garden Dress

Happy Humpday! Today I wanted to share more about the dress I pictured in my first ever post. I used a mesh of tutorials, but mainly I used a tutorial by Simply Annie Kate. You can find a link to the video tutorial as well as a nice sizing chart here.  Please excuse the pictures...I wasn't planning to blog this so I just used my camera phone.  Add that to a wiggly 21-month-old and these are the results....but the dress turned out so dern pretty that I have to post it!

I LOVE the rose fabric!

...and the big bow on the back.  Next time I think I'll make the straps longer so the bow has long flowing tails :)

Here's the back...

and the front...

The best thing about this dress is that it requires no pattern.  Maybe two or three measurements and that's it.  You cut out a bunch of rectangles and it becomes this gorgeous thing.

I will definitely be making it again.  I can't wait to try it in different patterns and colors.

I posted this to Shwin&Shwins link party.  Please visit their page for links to some awesome blogs!

  1. Love the dress. Do the straps just push through a hole in the back and then tie?

    1. Hi Vicki. Yes, the straps go through a button-hole sewn into the center top of the back, and then they are tied into a knot or a bow, I love big bows! The back is shirred for a more fitted dress :)
